La Cuisine Chef’s Wine: Tomato Sauce
This Inspirational Tomato Sauce is great with all types of pastas, and with optionally added seafood, ground beef, pees and grated cheeses such as parmesan. Our Cooking Wine adds the perfect flavouring with its unique blend of herbs; adding a kick to your favourite dinner dish.
Using your favourite tomato sauce recipe, in a large nonreactive large saucepan*, substitute white wine for same amount of La Cuisine Chef’s Wine and no need to add herbs or spices (reminder: LCCW has no added salt or preservatives).
Ingredients:
-1/4 cup La Cuisine Chef’s Wine*
-1 (28 ounce) can plum tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, or tomato sauce
-1 teaspoon of sugar
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-4 cloves garlic, chopped (and/or chopped onions)
-Chili flakes to taste (optional)
-Sea salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Heat olive oil in large sauce pan. Add garlic and optional chili pepper flakes and sauté until fragrant, about a minute (if adding chopped onions, add and sauté prior to adding garlic for approximately 5 minutes). Add LCCW and simmer for 5 minutes. Add tomato ingredients of choice and simmer until the sauce just starts to thicken, and slightly bubbles for approximately 30 minutes. Add teaspoon of sugar to smooth acidity.
